TroutNotify

Official state stocking data · starting with Colorado

Know when your water gets stocked — not a week later.

Every state publishes a trout stocking schedule or report — but by the time you think to check it, the water's already been hit. TroutNotify watches the official report for the lakes and streams you save, and pings you as soon as your state publishes them stocked. Only what the agency actually said, matched to your waters.

Stocking reports reward whoever checks first

The page doesn't come to you

Your state's stocking report updates on its own schedule. Unless refreshing it is your hobby, you find out days late — after the water's been hit hard.

You care about three waters, not three hundred

Agency reports list every stocking in the state. What you actually want to know: was my lake stocked this week? Nothing filters for that.

Facebook groups are the current alert system

Anglers already screenshot stocking pages into fishing groups — proof the news matters. But scattered posts skew to the famous waters and arrive on the poster's schedule, not yours.

How it works

  1. Save your waters

Pick the lakes and streams you fish. Add the states you travel to as we bring them online — Colorado (CPW) is our pilot state.

  2. We watch the official reports

TroutNotify watches the state agency's published stocking data and flags new entries for your saved waters as soon as they're published — the same source you'd check by hand, minus the checking.

  3. You get the alert — labeled honestly

Every alert says exactly what the state published: "reported stocked" when the agency confirms a stocking happened, or "scheduled" when it only publishes a planned week. We never fake a days-since-stocking number the source doesn't support.

Where the data comes from: official state wildlife agency stocking reports (for example Colorado Parks & Wildlife's weekly report). The data is public — what you're paying for is never having to check it, plus per-water matching and speed. We are not affiliated with any state agency.

Honest fine print: TroutNotify is in founding buildout. Colorado is the pilot; more states follow based on founding-member demand and each agency's data quality. Stocking data comes from official public agency reports — we make it faster and personal, we don't make it up.
